In the summer of 2018, we released Lakeview Part I and II. This lakeside home was totally remodeled to become a gorgeous, rustic-inspired, accessible home for our clients. This year, we revisited Lakeview & brought some of our favorite new pieces to bring a fresh new look to the home.

The Foyer

First impressions matter, that’s why we wanted to bring a little more color to the foyer of this home. First things first: the Loren Brick & Multi Rug. This vintage-style rug is both timeless and colorful, making it the perfect first impression for any guest.

Greenery is a great touch in any space, so we potted a few of our favorites in our new Terracotta Pots. These little cuties come with the perfect patina, giving them an antique look that will make even the worst gardener look like they have a green thumb. They come in several sizes so you can up your greenery game!

The Living Room

This living space is luxurious and oh so comfortable. With plenty of pillows and those gorgeous recliners, we can’t imagine a better space to relax with family and friends.

We love an open concept, but sometimes you need a little visual separation. A rug is the perfect way to divide up a room without actually putting up walls. The plush Anastasia Gray & Multi Rug is the perfect neutral accent to this living space.

Greenery and florals help to make a room come alive. To incorporate more nature in this home, we brought in our favorite floral, hydrangeas, and a few bushels of pampas grass and spindly branches.

We incorporated the Aged Brass Flower Pots into the shelves of the custom media cabinet as well as our client’s own books. We love the way books look when you shelve them with the spine facing inward. If you’re passionate about your color scheme, this is a great way to preserve that look.

The Dining Room

This dining room is a show-stopper! From the beautiful wood beams and glass chandeliers to the 13-foot table flanked by 12 dining chairs, this space is nothing short of incredible.

Just how can you elevate an already beautiful space? Accessories. The Blue & White Flower Porcelain Jar is the center of attention at this table. Pair this beauty with some fresh Italian Ruscus or your favorite greenery and you’re in business!

At the end of the dining room is a fabulous seating area surrounded by custom shelves. These shelves and others around the room are filled with family photos, favorite books, and some of our favorite styling tools. Things like the Berkeley Pots ad a pop of color while the Natural Bamboo Baskets match beautifully with the natural shade of the beams.

The Kitchen

How would we describe the perfect kitchen? We’re glad you asked. Durable but gorgeous countertops, a range that will make even the worst chef look like they could earn a Michelin Star, and enough storage for all our favorite snacks. This white kitchen is fit for even the biggest holiday dinner with that amazing range, double ovens, custom hood, and quartz countertops that can withstand just about any mess.

Speaking of the countertops, we decked them out with a few new styling favorites that are both functional and gorgeous. The Mod Charcuterie Board and Barcelona Cake Stand carry the beautiful wood tones of this home into the kitchen while the Large French Mason Jar brings the perfect pop of greenery into the kitchen.

Mudroom & Pantry

Nothing can compare to a beautiful mudroom. These uber-handy drop zones for shoes and bags are the perfect spaces for families on the go. The Loren Brick & Multi Runner protects the wood floors from dirt and scuffs until you can make it to the built in bench.

For those days when there seem to be never-ending groceries in the trunk, the Stone Doorstop keeps the door open and hands free to carry more stuff (we see you, Superwoman).

The panty might be our favorite room in this home. There are plenty of open cubbies for storage (and easy snack finding), a second refrigerator, and a prep sink. In the corner by the prep sink are our favorite storage canisters. These glass and brass beauties seal tightly to keep food fresh, plus they look gorgeous on the shelf or out on the counter.

The rustic style of the home was carried effortlessly into the powder bath. The custom open vanity features a bowl style sink and open storage, making the room appear larger and less cramped. The Brayden Arch Mirror also adds to the illusion of having more space.

This master bath in this home is truly unbelievable. Gorgeous marble floors and natural wood tones beautifully reflect the style of the rest of the house. We brought in fresh greenery in the Terracotta Vases and the Large French Mason Jar to polish off this perfect space.

Scout Sessions | The Four-Hour Light Fixture Hunt (And What It Taught Me About Systems)

The day I spent four hours tracking down a single light fixture while three clients were waiting for design decisions, I realized something had to change.
